Supporting Educators and Providing a Safe Space for Exploring Adoption-Related Concerns
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, registered with the NCPS, with a particular focus on adoption and education. With over 32 years’ experience in education, both internationally and in the UK, I have a deep understanding of the pressures faced by teachers, school leaders, and expatriate families within international school communities.
Alongside my professional background, I bring lived experience as a parent of adopted children, which informs my compassionate and informed approach to working with individuals and families affected by adoption and fostering. Through ongoing professional development, I am qualified to support clients navigating adoption-related challenges. My practice is grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and a commitment to providing a safe and supportive therapeutic space.

My work is grounded in my personal experience as an adoptive parent and an educator, which has led me to have a deep understanding of the concerns, obstacles, and needs within these communities. I help clients move forward by using a blend of goal setting, gentle challenges to unhelpful thinking, and compassionate listening.
I work with individuals and families within the adoption community, including adults who were adopted, families who are in the process of adopting or have recently adopted, and those who are fostering children. Together, in an empathic and non-judgemental space we explore identity, attachment, loss and relationship challenges.
I also work with members of the education community. With over 30 years’ experience in international schools and boarding schools, I support teachers, school leaders, students and parents who experiencing stress, burnout, transitions and school related concerns.
